Located seventy-five
miles east of Nassau, the island of Eleuthera is dominated
by three settlements; North Eleuthera, Governour's Harbour
and Rock Sound.
As the original Bahamian settlement, Eleuthera has been
a refuge for groups seeking freedom from religious persecution.

Eleuthera has long been the favored
"outer island". Here, you'll find unspoiled
beaches, vibrant colors, rich forests, rolling hills
and very friendly residents. Like Hawaii, Eleuthera
is known for excellent surfing and the cultivation of
pineapples.

Island is a picturesque village. The clapboard homes and
cottages with their whitewashed picket fences create the
canvas, the people provide the images of charm.
This array of colors will stimulate the canvas as you
stroll through the streets. From the "Norman Rockwell
poster homes", to the beautifully adorned bougainvillea,
the scenery is spectacular. This paradise has been awarded
the most charming island in the Caribbean and is bestowed
with crystal clear warm ocean waters and powdery pink
sand. Harbour Island is just 3 miles wide and ¼
miles long. |

Dunmore Town (pop. 1,500) dates back
to 1791. Governed by Lord Dunmore from 1787 to 1796, it was
once the capital of the Bahamas. Even today, the island maintains
its regal atmosphere, charm and colonization of this era.
Spanish Wells is located two miles west
of Harbour Island and only 20 minutes away on your
yacht. The island received its name from the Spanish
galleons that loaded provisions before venturing back across
the Atlantic. Spanish Wells provides a majority of seafood
to the world. This quaint island is an excellent way to spend
a few hours.
